House Painting Tips and Tricks

Helpful Painting Ideas!

Have you just painted your interior walls? How do you know if you did a great job or if you still need to do something else? Below are 3 of the common house painting tips and tricks that can help you be on the right track!

If your project is not turning out as designed, don’t hesitate to call your local painting company right away!

Buttressing

This is an important painting tip that you should consider doing! But, if you want to practice the technique to make sure it’s correct, you can start by applying some additional caulk behind your baseboards and in the corner joints. You can also add a few additional screws for extra support.

This is one of the more difficult painting tips to do, especially if you have dark colors and have never done this before. You can try temporary paint strips behind your baseboards and/or in the corner joints to see if you have the hang of it. If you’re having trouble, then practice first on a piece of scrap wood.

Placing Your Tools

Give your tools and equipment a place to go to if you want to be efficient when painting! Consider hanging them up on pegs or tie them to the wall so you don’t trip over them! You can also store your paint rollers, brushes, and other painting supplies in a box or basket. You should also clearly label them to avoid mixing brushes with each other.

Checking the Length of your Stakes

If you’re painting your fences, then you’ll want to ensure that the stakes are long enough to reach the ground! If you’re painting a small fence that does not require a long-term support, then you can just use short wooden pegs. If your fence is several feet away, then consider investing in longer stakes that are made of 2-by-4s that are at least 24 inches long.

These tips may sound easy but they actually require a great degree of expertise to do perfectly. Speaking of which, Done Right Painting is the house painting contractor you need!
